Assistant Civil Engineer

Assistant Civil Engineer – Highways & Drainage (Bristol)

About the role

Due to continued framework successes, we are seeking an Assistant Civil Engineer passionate about water, highways, drainage, and infrastructure to join our Highways Drainage Team in Bristol. Our collaborative and multidisciplinary team is one of the largest in the UK, providing:

  • Mains design
  • Drainage design
  • Sustainable Drainage Systems (SuDS)
  • Surface water management

Our portfolio of clients spans across the UK and internationally and includes water companies, local authorities, highways authorities, Network Rail, and developers.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Developing skills in drainage design and surface water management across various projects, including technical reports, drawings, and specifications
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary teams, led by industry experts
  • Supporting drainage projects from concept to detailed design to construction
  • Driving innovation and efficiency using digital tools and data to disrupt the status quo in water and infrastructure sectors

About you

  • Degree in Civil Engineering or a related discipline
  • Enthusiasm for civil, water, or environmental engineering
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills
  • Proactive approach to learning and professional development
  • Working towards, or interested in pursuing, professional accreditation (e.g., ICE or CIWEM)
