Job Title: Assistant Claims Adjuster – Professional Indemnity
Reporting to: Senior Claims Adjuster
Location: Bristol
Position Type: Permanent, 35 hours per week
Hybrid: 3 days in the office

Job Purpose:
To make up a 3-person Professional Indemnity claims team based in Bristol (alongside an underwriting team) which in itself is part of a larger team based in London and South Wales. There will be regular visits to and inclusion in London-based activities. The successful candidate will develop their experience and understanding of legal process; insurance law; negotiating skills; and of the wide variety of trades we insure. They will also benefit from working alongside the larger Casualty Claims team based in London & South Wales which involves regular inter-office collaboration; and where their effort and achievement is recognised by a company in which opportunities for career progression are regularly available.

Key Responsibilities:
- Receiving notifications;
- Processing information onto the claims system;
- Identifying relevant facts, documents and formulating appropriate requests for information;
- Drafting appropriate case summaries; strategies and Large Loss Reports;
- Setting case reserves in line with our philosophy;
- Corresponding and conversing with brokers, insureds and third parties;
- Dealing with queries and complaints;
- Attending meetings and mediations with third parties;
- Attending bi-weekly team meetings with senior underwriters to discuss key important cases;
- Apprising and meeting with reinsurers where necessary.
Skills and Experience Specification:
Essential:
- 0-3 Years’ experience dealing with London market insurance preferably in a claims capacity
- At least 3 (A* to C) relevant A-level qualifications
- 8+ GCSE Grades 5 and above (or equivalent) to include Maths and English
- Working towards Dip CII
- High level Excel skills including ability to prepare reports using formula and pivot tables.
