About the NHS Scotland Academy
The NHS Scotland Academy (NHSSA) is a partnership between NHS Golden Jubilee and Public Services Delivery Scotland (PSDS), funded by the Scottish Government, to deliver accelerated training across health and social care roles and professions.
Key responsibilities include:
- Developing training programmes aligned with workforce needs, recruitment, and career progression
- Enhancing capacity and capability in NHS Scotland
- Addressing evolving workforce requirements to prepare for future demands
Job Role & Overview
We seek a motivated and enthusiastic individual with a passion for clinical education and workforce development to join the NHSSA team as an Assistant Clinical Educator (Band 6) specialising in perioperative practice.

Tenure:
- Fixed-term or secondment basis, until September 2028 (2-year contract).
Primary responsibilities:
- Supporting learners in NHSSA National Perioperative Programmes to deliver a high-quality learning experience.
- Working collaboratively with NHS Scotland Academy team to develop and deliver training programmes.
Working arrangement:
- Primarily based at NHS Golden Jubilee, with occasional travel to other locations as required.
- Flexible working may be considered for this role.
