Assistant Commercial Manager
We are currently recruiting for an Assistant Commercial Manager to assist on a major MoD project, to be delivered from our site office near Oakham, Rutland.
The Assistant Commercial Manager will be responsible for assisting commercial and financial elements on high value, complex construction project(s) through pre-construction, delivery and final accounts stages.
Roles & Responsibilities
To safeguard the financial and commercial interests of the company by managing and controlling commercial risk, income and expenditure. Contributing to the delivery of the project in a timely, efficient, sustainable and safe manner whilst achieving commercial targets. Meeting client expectations and enhancing the reputation of the business. Excellent interpersonal skills to maintain and develop relationships with both internal and external stakeholders. Completed degree and gaining experience during the post-graduate period.
Essential Credentials
- Maintain CSCS card for the role.
- Professional Construction Qualifications relevant to the role or qualified by appropriate level of experience.
Skills, Knowledge, Experience, Behaviours
Essential Skills
- Advanced word-processing, Excel spreadsheet packages and fully conversant with cost management software / document management software.

Essential Knowledge
- Degree Quantity Surveying or other construction related degree.
- NEC/JCT contract and subcontract experience.
- Demonstrable understanding of building programmes, technology and construction methods.
Essential Experience
- Similar experience either with a national contractor or on major projects.
- Developing key areas of experience- procurement, internal and external reporting, commercial package management and change control.

- Demonstrate core professional behaviours including time keeping, presentation, achieving deadlines and producing quality work consistently.
