An opportunity has arisen to join the Corporate Governance function of a leading regulated financial services organisation on a six-month contract.
Working within a specialist Senior Managers Regime (SMR) team, you will play a key role in ensuring the organisation continues to meet its regulatory obligations across multiple regulated entities.
This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced governance, company secretarial or SMR professional looking to work in a highly visible role, partnering with senior stakeholders and supporting an established governance function.
The Role
Working as part of a collaborative four-person SMR team, you will be responsible for maintaining the firm's SMR framework, ensuring documentation, processes and regulatory submissions remain accurate, compliant and up to date.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Maintaining Management Responsibilities Maps, Statements of Responsibilities and associated governance documentation.
- Managing Senior Management Function (SMF) documentation, including Job Descriptions, Reasonable Steps documentation, Learning & Development Plans and Handover Documents.
- Preparing and submitting regulatory filings relating to the Senior Managers Regime.
- Supporting annual Fitness & Propriety processes and wider SMR governance activities.
- Producing briefing papers, reports and presentations for senior management.
- Developing and updating SMR training materials and supporting the delivery of guidance to senior executives.
- Monitoring regulatory developments and recommending enhancements to governance processes and controls.
- Supporting ad hoc governance, regulatory and reporting projects as required.

About You
You will have previous experience working within the Senior Managers & Certification Regime (SMCR) or a closely related corporate governance or company secretarial environment within financial services.

- Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities.
- High levels of accuracy and attention to detail.
- Confidence communicating with senior stakeholders and explaining regulatory requirements clearly.
- A proactive, collaborative approach and the ability to work independently when required.
