Assistant Construction Manager

Location: Liverpool Street, London (Hybrid – WFH) Salary: £45,000 - £60,000 + car allowance, healthcare, bonuses, pension, holiday & discretionary package

The Role

Developing your skills alongside senior Construction and Project Managers, you’ll provide essential day-to-day project support across ambitions schemes—spanning £1m–£20m—including:

  • Commercial office fit-outs
  • Retail refurbishments
  • Hospitality projects
  • Public sector health & safety-focused schemes

You’ll gain hands-on exposure to every phase of high-quality delivery while building expertise for progression to Construction Manager.

Key Responsibilities

  • Work closely with project managers to ensure effective on-site support
  • Assist in programme and procurement management while coordinating subcontractor performance
  • Attend minimum weekly site meetings alongside team audits to cultivate client relationships
  • Uphold H&S compliance while tracking project schedules, budgets, and quality outputs
  • Streamline contractor subduing for operational efficiency and productivity
  • Provide detailed report distribution (construction progress & cost controls)
  • Participate in client meetings, delivering real-time transparency and alignment
  • Consistently meet KPIs for programme, cost, and quality—reflecting professional competence and adaptability

About You

We prioritise initiative and cultural fit alongside experience. An ideal candidate will:

  • Have hands-on fit-out or refurbishment delivery exposure (in London preferred)
  • Understand challenges & opportunities of commercial, hospitality, or public sector contexts
  • Meticulously organise resources & delegated tasks with clarity
  • Communicate professionally—writing, speaking, and relationship-building
  • Thrive on rapid learning and project ownership, even at introduction level
  • Driven to develop long-term with a strong collaborative mindset—not the ambition for temporary roles
