Job Title: Assistant Customer Due Diligence - Mandarin Speaking

About the Role

Manchester Branch provides a variety of Personal Banking and Corporate Banking services to customers in the UK mainly in the region of North England, including deposit, loan and mortgage, remittance, bank card, clearing, currency exchange, and corporate-related banking services.

As an Assistant Customer Due Diligence - Mandarin Speaking, you will support the day-to-day operational and administrative activities of the department. This is a full-time 12-month fixed-term contract position.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist the Corporate Business and Operations and Risk Control teams with day-to-day operational activities, including but not limited to corporate account opening, maintenance of customer and account information, internet banking setup and administration, and payment verification
  • Assist with client due diligence and background checks, including but not limited to Anti-Money Laundering (AML) and Counter-Terrorist Financing (CTF) screening, sanctions screening, transaction monitoring, adverse media screening, and Politically Exposed Person (PEP) checks
  • Support the Customer Due Diligence (CDD) team in conducting trigger event and periodic reviews of customer accounts by collecting and reviewing relevant CDD documentation and information, including Source of Funds (SOF) and Source of Wealth (SOW)
  • Support with MI reporting, portfolio management, and KPIs tracking-related tasks
  • Ensure that all activities comply with compliance requirements as per the Bank’s policies and procedures

  • Degree educated in Finance, Economics, Accounting, or other relevant subject
  • Proven track record in a similar business stream
  • Basic knowledge in FCA regulatory requirements for the Banking industry, EU, US, and UN sanctions regimes, EU Financial Crime directives, and GDPR is preferred
  • Knowledge of Banking products and services is preferred
  • Excellent English and Mandarin communication skills
  • Problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Highly organized
  • Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
