Role
As the Assistant Design Manager, you will be responsible for the design management of work packages allocated to you and their delivery to the agreed plan.
- You will manage and coordinate with design teams and sub-contractors for the packages you are allocated so their activities are planned and programmed and integrate with the project programme.
- You will work in accordance with the Design Management Plan, ensuring design control processes / governance are applied. That designs coordinate and integrate as they develop, and information is shared between parties so that designs proceed as planned.
- You will verify the information exchanged is complete, of the quality required and where appropriate, is checked by suitable competent people.
- As design progresses you will ensure the designs remain in line with their scope requirements.
- You will support the Design Manager / Senior Design Manager when dealing with Commercial, Construction Team and Planners.
- You will support Design leadership in undertaking the Lead Designer activities for self-assurance.
- You will contribute to monthly updates and weekly meetings, support in identifying issues and in the plans to mitigate delays or cost increases.
- You will support the Design Manager / Senior Design Manager with your contribution to project reports and metrics.
