Assistant Design Manager
Elevation Recruitment Group are recruiting for an Assistant Design Manager on behalf of a growing engineering and construction business delivering technically complex infrastructure projects across the UK and overseas.

This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced Structural or Civil Design Engineer looking to take the next step into a leadership role. Working closely with the Design & Engineering Manager, you'll play a key role in coordinating design activities, mentoring junior team members, and delivering high-quality engineering solutions from concept through to construction.

The Role
As Assistant Design Manager, you'll support the management and delivery of multiple structural engineering projects, ensuring designs are completed safely, accurately, and to programme.

  • Producing and reviewing structural calculations, engineering designs, and technical reports.
  • Coordinating design activities across multiple live projects.
  • Checking and approving CAD drawings, detailing, and engineering documentation.
  • Supporting project teams by resolving technical and construction queries.
  • Liaising with clients, consultants, and internal stakeholders throughout the design process.
  • Attending technical and design review meetings.
  • Driving continuous improvement of engineering standards, processes, and documentation.
  • Supporting and mentoring junior engineers and CAD technicians.

About You
We're looking for an engineer with:

  • A degree (or equivalent) in Civil or Structural Engineering.
  • Experience delivering structural design projects within engineering, construction, or infrastructure.
  • Strong knowledge of reinforced concrete and/or steel structures.
  • Experience producing structural calculations and technical reports.
  • The ability to coordinate multiple projects and communicate effectively with clients and project teams.
  • A proactive mindset with ambitions to develop into a Design Manager.
