Assistant Development Manager
We are working on behalf of a well-established and growing real estate development client to appoint an Assistant Development Manager. This is an excellent opportunity for a commercially minded individual to gain broad exposure across the full development lifecycle, working on a diverse pipeline of hotel, residential, commercial and mixed-use schemes.
The Role
Reporting into senior leadership, you will support the delivery of multiple development projects, from initial feasibility and planning through to construction and operational handover. This is a hands-on, varied position suited to someone looking to take the next step in their development career within a dynamic and entrepreneurial environment.
Key Responsibilities
Development & Financial Analysis Undertake site financial appraisals and feasibility studies Build and maintain financial models Support bank facility structuring and loan processes Carry out financial covenant testing Monitor project budgets, costs and expenditure

Planning & Design Undertake planning appraisals across residential, hotels and commercial Review architectural designs (RIBA Stages 0–3) Liaise with planning case officers and manage submissions Review planning permissions and discharge conditions Lead on S106 reviews, negotiations and CIL considerations
Project & Consultant Management Liaise with and manage consultants, architects, engineers and viability specialists Assist with the appointment of consultants and agents (sales and lettings) Participate in and occasionally chair design team meetings Conduct regular site inspections and progress reviews
Legal & Commercial Support Assist with legal documentation including: ASTs, leases and contracts S106 agreements and unilateral undertakings JCT contracts and legal packs for funding and disposals Support legal processes relating to acquisitions, disposals and financing
Delivery & Operations Support project delivery to ensure a smooth transition into operation (“soft landing”) Coordinate utility applications and statutory approvals Manage street naming and numbering processes Support monthly project drawdowns and lender reporting

Candidate Profile
Experience & Skills Experience within real estate development, consultancy or investment Strong Excel capability Good understanding of UK planning system and development processes Knowledge of S106, CIL and real estate legal frameworks Familiarity with ERP/CRM systems (desirable)
Personal Attributes Excellent communication and negotiation skills Strong organisational and problem-solving ability A proactive, hands-on approach Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects Collaborative, with a team-oriented mindset
