Assistant Director - Finance

Role Overview

  • Salary: £89,735 per annum
  • Location: Portishead (with agile working)
  • Working Hours: Permanent – 37 hours per week

We are seeking an Assistant Director – Finance to join our Operational Leadership Team and play a pivotal role in shaping the financial direction of our organisation. This is a great opportunity for an experienced finance leader who combines:

Key Responsibilities

  • Report to the CFO and provide strategic financial leadership across the organisation.
  • Lead a business partnering team, ensuring proactivity in working with stakeholders to drive:
    • Financial control
    • Best practice
  • Manage the Rent setting function, ensuring:
    • Statutory and regulatory standards are met
    • Costs represent good value for money for customers
  • Oversee:
    • Budgeting cycles
    • Forecasting processes
    • Financial planning activities
  • Maintain robust:
    • Internal compliance
    • Audit processes
    • Risk management arrangements
  • Utilise data-driven insights to:
    • Influence business decisions
    • Improve organisational performance
  • Present complex financial information clearly to:
    • Boards
    • Committees
    • Non-financial audiences
  • Champion a culture of:
    • Accountability
    • Commercial awareness

  • Be a fully qualified accountant (e.g., ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
  • Have significant senior-level experience in finance.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead:
    • Financial strategy
    • Organisational change

  • Show a passion for service excellence, continuous improvement, and innovation.
