You will use your intellectual guile and enthusiasm to apply your technical skills across the M&A transaction lifecycle; including pre-deal diligence, portfolio review and corporate carve-outs and integrations.

- Manage blended project teams comprising colleagues from our transactions and advisory practices.
- Assisting in aspects of business origination, including pitches and presentations, and working in project teams comprising other colleagues from EY Parthenon, such as Operational and Financial Due Diligence, Corporate Strategy and Software Strategy Group.
- Working on client engagement teams who advise and support key decision makers in developing and executing strategies for transactions.
- Assess the client's state of readiness with respect to people, resources, planning, data collection and strategy, while identifying high-risk areas, unidentified issues and areas for overall improvement.
- Learn and develop technical and personal skills to support achievement of career goals, through a blend of structured learning, coaching and experiences.
- Contribute to people initiatives, recruiting, retaining and training current and future staff.

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?
Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.
Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
