🦋 Start your ecology career with ADAS while helping protect British wildlife
We’re looking for an Assistant Ecological Consultant to join our growing ecology team, working across a variety of project locations within the South East Region of the UK.
This role is ideal for those just starting their ecology careers who are looking to develop their skills and pursue a consultancy career. You’ll work closely with Senior and Principal Ecologists, supporting the delivery of projects while gaining increasing responsibility.
As an Assistant Ecological Consultant at ADAS, you will play a key role in delivering field surveys, preparing technical reports, and supporting project management across a diverse portfolio, including infrastructure and development projects.

What You’ll Be Doing
Undertaking a range of ecological field surveys (including habitat and protected species surveys), supported by colleagues until able to do independently Collecting, analysing, and interpreting survey data to inform project outcomes Preparing and contributing to technical reports, such as PEAs, EcIAs and species-specific survey reports Supporting the coordination and delivery of projects, ensuring work is completed to programme and budget Liaising with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders under the guidance of senior staff Ensuring compliance with wildlife legislation, policy, and best practice guidance
