We’re recruiting for an Assistant Ecological Consultant to join our expanding ecology team, based across various project sites near Manchester.
This is the perfect role for individuals launching their ecological consultancy careers. You’ll work closely with Senior and Principal Ecologists, supporting project delivery while gradually taking on more responsibility.
As an Assistant Ecological Consultant at ADAS (operating under RSK Group*), your core contributions will include delivering ecological fieldwork, compiling technical reports, and assisting with project coordination—ranging from infrastructure and development projects.

Responsibilities
Your core duties will include:
- Conducting ecological field surveys (e.g., habitat and protected species assessments), with guidance before progressing independently
- Collecting, analysing, and interpreting survey data to support project outcomes
- Drafting and contributing to technical reports (e.g., **Preliminary Ecological Assessments (PEAs)*, Ecological Impact Assessments (EcIAs), specialist species survey reports)
- Supporting project coordination, ensuring quality, schedule adherence, and budget control
- Liaising with colleagues, clients, and stakeholders under direct supervision
- Ensuring compliance with UK wildlife legislation, relevant policies, and best practice standards
