Assistant Electronics Engineer – K9 Electronics Ltd
Location: Northampton Science Park
Company: K9 Electronics Ltd is a leading designer and manufacturer of advanced security and electronic warfare technology. Specialising in surveillance, counter-surveillance, and communications jamming systems, we develop RF/EW products for defence, law enforcement, and government clients worldwide.
About the Role
This is a full-time, on-site Assistant Electronics Engineer position offering a varied and hands-on experience. Every day presents new challenges as you contribute to the entire product lifecycle—from design and development to production. You will assist with both technical work and customer interactions, ensuring strong communication skills are key to success alongside your technical expertise.

Responsibilities
- Assist in the design and development of electronic circuits and systems
- Build, test, and debug prototype hardware
- Support troubleshooting and continuous improvement of existing designs
- Handle customer enquiries via phone and email, providing technical responses
- Act as a technical liaison for customers, offering support and updates
- Maintain accurate records and documentation of projects
Requirements
- A genuine passion for electronics (more important than extensive experience)
- Punctual, reliable, and self-motivated
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Exceptional written and verbal communication (customer-facing role)
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a small team

Preferred Qualifications:
- Degree in Electronics Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related discipline
- Practical experience in electronics will be considered equally
