Assistant Engagement Consultant

What if you could shape a career as unique as you? At WSP, you can always find opportunities to grow and do what matters to you. Make the most of our global reach to discover new challenges and chances to work with diverse, talented individuals who will help you expand your horizons.

A little more about your role…

You’ll be joining WSP’s expanding UK wide Engagement team of 60 plus, where you’ll play a meaningful role in shaping how major projects connect with communities. Working on some of the UK’s largest infrastructure programmes—as well as projects across the water, health, energy and environmental sectors—you’ll help deliver engagement that is thoughtful, impactful and built on best practice.

As part of our Planning and Consents business unit, you’ll be supported and mentored by experienced senior engagement specialists as you contribute to public consultation and stakeholder engagement activities. You’ll also collaborate closely with colleagues across WSP, helping to create clear, engaging communications that bring projects to life and ensure a positive experience for the communities we work with.

This is a great opportunity to grow your engagement expertise while working on high‑profile projects in a collaborative and supportive environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • presenting feedback to help projects develop in a responsible way by understanding and data coding and helping prepare reports
  • supporting our clients based around the UK and internationally by attending and minuting meetings, ensuring accuracy in our documents and reports and tracking stakeholder engagement
  • proactively supporting your teams (project, location and Engagement) to deliver quality communications and engagement activity.

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
