We seek a passionate Assistant Engineer to join our West Midlands Technical Team. In this role, you’ll support the broader Technical Team in sourcing sites, planning, designing, managing, and implementing Miller Homes’ build projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist the team in procuring new development sites, including direct engagement with utility companies over supply diversions, and liaison with drainage and highway authorities, as well as external consultants.
- Collaborate in overseeing designs provided by Consulting Engineers for estate roads, sewers, and foundational work—ensuring technical accuracy and securing approvals for structural superstructure components when necessary.
- Help gather and compare service quotes for new developments, facilitating orders with preferred contractors via the Commercial Department.
- Work closely with the Technical Team (Technical Coordinators and wider) to ensure compliance with building regulations and fulfilment of planning conditions.

Requirements
- A relevant industry qualification or currently studying towards one.
- Prior experience as an engineer in house-building or a similar role within the construction industry.
- Strong organisational skills, with the ability to plan, monitor, and execute projects efficiently.
- A positive, proactive attitude committed to progressing with the business.
