Assistant Geotechnical Engineer at Arcadis

About the Role
As an Assistant Geotechnical Engineer, you'll contribute to the delivery of groundbreaking infrastructure projects in the UK. Supporting senior engineers, you'll work within geotechnical design, ground investigations, and report preparation, gaining invaluable experience in a collaborative and supportive environment.
Role Accountabilities
- Technical Support: Assist in the preparation of geotechnical calculations, drawings, specifications, and technical reports, adhering to industry and project standards.
- Ground Investigations: Support the design and implementation of investigations, while contributing to geotechnical decision-making processes.
- Collaboration: Work effectively within cross-disciplinary teams to deliver high-quality engineering solutions.
- Client & Stakeholder Relations: Build professional relationships with clients, project partners, and colleagues to ensure effective communication.
- Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with health, safety, and environmental regulations guiding all project activities.
- Professional Growth: Take ownership of your development, supported by mentorship from senior team members.
- Project Coordination: Assist in managing project tasks, ensuring deadlines and clear communication are met.

Qualifications & Experience
- Degree in Civil Engineering (with geotechnical specialisation), Geotechnical Engineering, or Engineering Geology.
- Experience: Some exposure to the civil engineering industry, ideally in geotechnical design/site investigations.
- Technical Skills:
- Proficiency in geotechnical software (e.g., VDISP/PDISP, WALLAP, REPUTE, Slope/W).
- Standard office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook).
- Communication & Problem-Solving: Strong numerical and written skills, with the ability to produce technical reports.
- Personality & Adaptability:
- Enthusiastic about continuous learning and problem-solving.
- Willingness to collaborate within a team.
- Ability to travel and work on-site, requiring a full, valid UK driving licence.
