We’re on the lookout for an Assistant Engineering Manager to join us at Stagecoach Preston where we operate a fleet of around 129 buses.


About the Role
This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Assistant Engineering Manager to support the management of a diverse and widespread engineering operation within a progressive organisation. Your contribution could truly drive our business forward.


What you’ll do:

  • Delivering effective engineering support to the wider team & Manager
  • Drive forward excellent levels of safety, reliability and presentation of our fleet while meeting all statutory & legislative requirements
  • Ensuring compliance with the company’s proactive and preventative maintenance regime
  • Ensuring compliance with all health & safety policies and procedures, whilst maximising opportunities for future improvement
  • Collaborate, as a member of the senior engineering & local management teams, with colleagues to further develop the business within budgetary guidelines.

What we need from you:

  • You’ll have an excellent track record of high-quality fleet maintenance with the ability to lead a team to deliver a safe and cost-effective programme of preventative maintenance and repair.
  • You’ll have excellent knowledge of health & safety, environmental and employment legislation and be good communicator, with a customer focused and commercially astute outlook.
