Job Introduction
A Bit About The Role
As an Assistant Events Manager, you’ll develop and produce a programme of exclusive market leading events & experiences, projects and customer engagement strategies which utilise all elements of the communications mix to surprise, amaze and amuse our customers throughout the year. You’ll deliver on multiple, simultaneous, complex projects, whilst managing various stakeholders and working with teams across the business. You will ensure that Selfridges remains a leader in experiences for all our customers. You will be an excellent communicator who will keep everyone up to speed and will bring teams and stakeholders on the journey with you along the way.
You will support Membership + Experience Lead in delivering innovative, highly effective, market leading events which deliver against key business objectives. You will research, create and produce market leading events that drive engagement within our customers across the Trafford Store. You will act as a strong and influential ‘voice’ across both the Events Team, the Customer Engagement Team & Retail operations teams in ensuring that project needs are articulated and understood.
As An Assistant Events Manager, You Will
- Support to curate, develop & deliver strategic communications, events and experiences across all categories stocked within Trafford
- Work directly with key stakeholders within the marketing and retail teams to produce and deliver a comprehensive, strategy led programme of events and experiences
- Be the main contact for the Manchester Trafford Store and raise awareness of our key initiatives and priorities utilising original, compelling and exciting experiences to drive footfall
- Collaborate closely with the Assistant Events Manager – Personal Shopping to curate a programme of experiences across all Levels of Selfridges Unlocked, with a specific focus on Levels 1 - 3
- Produce, Project Manage and Deliver events and activities to an exceptionally high standard
- Collaborate with the wider communications teams across the business to ensure that projects and experiences are communicated effectively (Customer Marketing, Performance Marketing, CRM, Social and Digital) to communicate projects effectively and to drive footfall and ticket sales
- Attend large steering meetings with senior stakeholders for large scale projects and communicate effectively across the business with all project stakeholders in Customer, Communications, Creative, Buying, Finance, Legal and Retail Teams
- Attend and be a considered voice within workshops and project meetings, collaborating with colleagues team members to push objectives
- Manage Project budgets and effectively monitor and report finance, raise POs and manage suppliers
- Manage internal business stakeholders such as Graphics, Multimedia Creative, 3D Creative, Visual Merchandising and Retail Operations to ensure projects are briefed and delivered seamlessly
- Utilise strong leadership skills to develop event and project proposals to ensure they reflect the Selfridges vision and are market leading.
- Ensure that Senior Leadership teams receive regular updates regarding all planned activity and act upon feedback where appropriate
- Generate and present detailed project reports analysing status and KPIs for senior audiences

- Have experience working with UHNW individuals
- Have experience working within luxury (retail, fashion and beauty) events/experiences
- Have an array of city centre connections
- Be a brand guardian for the store and for Selfridges
- Plenty of Creative flair/ a creative eye, with an interest in arts and culture
Experience required
- Excellent Event Production and Event Project Management experience (ideally in a luxury goods, fashion or beauty environment)
- Proven external network with the latest event & creative companies
- Experience managing partners across multiple disciplines
- Extensive Event Management experience (essential)
- Planning and project management (essential)
- Excel, PowerPoint (essential)

- Used to taking initiative – a proactive self-starter
