Assistant Finance Business Partner

Worcester based with a balance of home and office working

£37,070 per annum

35 hours per week

12 month secondment opportunity available upon current line management approval

About the role

We have an exciting opportunity for an Assistant Finance Business Partner to join the Sanctuary Care Finance team. Working closely with Regional Finance Managers, Operational Leaders and senior stakeholders, you will play a key role in supporting the financial performance of one of the UK's leading care providers.

This role provides an excellent opportunity to develop your business partnering skills, helping operational teams understand financial performance, identify opportunities for improvement and support informed decision-making.

You will deliver meaningful financial analysis, management information and forecasting, while ensuring strong financial controls are maintained across the business.

This is an excellent development opportunity for an aspiring Finance Business Partner. The successful candidate will work closely with senior operational and finance stakeholders across Sanctuary Care, gaining exposure to strategic decision making, performance improvement initiatives, budget setting and forecasting. The role provides a unique opportunity to develop influencing, analytical and commercial skills whilst supporting the financial performance of a large and complex care business.

The role of Assistant Finance Business Partner will include:

  • Supporting the delivery of financial management and business partnering services across Sanctuary Care.
  • Producing accurate and timely monthly management information, forecasts and financial analysis to support operational and strategic decision-making.
  • Working with Regional Finance Managers and operational colleagues to understand performance, challenge assumptions and identify opportunities to improve financial outcomes.
  • Supporting the annual budget and forecasting processes, ensuring information is robust, accurate and aligned to business objectives.
  • Analysing key operational drivers including occupancy, fee income, staffing costs, agency usage and other performance metrics.
  • Assisting with the preparation of business cases, investment appraisals and ad-hoc financial analysis.
  • Ensuring financial records, controls and processes are maintained and comply with organisational policies and statutory requirements.
  • Developing insightful reporting and performance dashboards to support operational and financial decision-making.
  • Building effective working relationships with stakeholders across Finance and Operations.

Skills and experience:

  • AAT qualified, studying towards a professional accounting qualification desirable.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret, challenge and communicate financial information.
  • Experience of working with large data sets and translating information into meaningful insights.
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and deliver high-quality work to tight deadlines.
  • Strong communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Good attention to detail and commitment to maintaining accurate financial information.
  • Experience of using financial systems such as SAP or equivalent.
  • Advanced Excel skills would be advantageous.
  • Previous experience within a finance, management accounting or business partnering environment is desirable.

Role salary is £33,397 with an additional policy allowance of £3,673 per annum
