Assistant Financial Controller – JCB Service & Attachments
About the role:
As Assistant Financial Controller for JCB, you'll play a pivotal role in supporting the financial management and performance of the business. Working closely with senior finance leaders and key stakeholders across the organisation, you will be responsible for managing financial accounts, ensuring robust financial controls, and delivering accurate, timely reporting that enables informed business decision-making.
You'll analyse financial performance, support budgeting and forecasting activities, and provide valuable insights to help drive operational efficiency and commercial success.

What does this role involve day to day?
- Support the Financial Controller in preparing financial reports, P&L statements, and variance analysis for business unit management.
- Interpret and present financial analysis clearly and persuasively, providing insights and recommendations to influence key decisions.
- Act as a financial business partner for stakeholders within the business unit.
- Manage year-end accounting and control processes to meet statutory requirements.
- Oversee monthly accounts, budgets, and forecasts, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
- Produce performance indicator reports and ad-hoc analysis as required by management.
- Prepare and submit monthly cash flow forecasts and budgets.
- Liaise with and manage external auditors.
- Assess financial risks and appraise investment proposals and capital expenditure.
- Lead and develop a small team, conducting regular performance reviews and providing guidance to achieve objectives.

This will be suited to you if…
- You are CIMA, ACA, or ACCA qualified
- You have strong experience in financial reporting, budgeting, and forecasting within a similar role.
- You can interpret complex financial data and communicate insights effectively.
- You’re confident working with stakeholders and acting as a trusted business partner.
- You have experience managing audits and statutory accounting processes.
- You’re a proactive leader who enjoys developing and motivating a team.
