Assistant Garment Technologist (18 month FTC)

We are Sosandar. Based in Wilmslow, Cheshire, we’re one of the UK’s fastest growing online fashion brands for chic and stylish customers; worn by celebs and influencers galore. We have an amazing opportunity for someone equally as amazing to join our growing team as an Assistant Garment Technologist.

About the Role

As an Assistant Garment Technologist at Sosandar, you will support the technical team in delivering high-quality & well fitting womenswear garments. You will work closely with the Design & Buying teams, and suppliers to ensure garments meet brand standards from initial development through to production.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in fit sessions, taking clear and accurate notes
  • Support in reviewing samples
  • Measure garments and check against specifications and size charts
  • Support the creation and updating of tech packs and size specs
  • Assist with data pulling for partners
  • Build strong working relationships with factories and external partners
  • Assist in ensuring products meet quality standards and testing requirements
  • Support with sealing processes and critical path management
  • Help identify potential production issues and propose solutions
  • Work closely with Design and Buying teams to balance aesthetic and technical requirements

Skills & Experience Required

Essential:

  • Degree (or equivalent) in Fashion Technology, Garment Technology, or related field
  • Strong understanding of garment construction and fabrics
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills
  • Good communication skills (written and verbal)
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced fashion environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel)

Desirable:

  • Previous internship or experience in a garment technology or QA role
  • Experience working with overseas suppliers
  • Knowledge of testing standards and quality control processes
