Assistant General Manager

Assistant General Manager | Welcome Break – Ramada Newport (Pagnell) MK16 1DS

Full-time role | Rewarding salary package, up to £29,000 with annual bonus scheme | £10 meal allowance every shift


Ready to take the next step in hotel leadership?

As an Assistant General Manager at our Welcome Break Ramada hotel, you’ll support the Hotel Manager to deliver excellent standards, a warm welcome, and a seamless guest experience, ensuring the hotel runs flawlessly—even at peak times.

You’ll act as the Hotel Manager’s right-hand professional, overseeing key areas including:

  • Daily operations in reception, housekeeping and maintenance
  • Team leadership on shifts, planning rotas and ensuring efficiency
  • Cost and stock management to maintain profitability
  • Premium guest preparation, keeping rooms and public spaces clean, comfortable and well-stocked
  • Duty management when required, including handling guest feedback, escalations, and compliance duties
  • Safety, audit readiness and guest satisfaction culture

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead day-to-day operations with a focus on service excellence
  • Oversee multi-department routines (reception, housekeeping, maintenance, food & beverage)
  • Stay vigilant on cost control, inventory and guest needs
  • Handle guest issues promptly and professionally
  • Collaborate with teams to maintain high standards, compliance and safety protocols
  • Act as a mentor and leader for Assistant Managers and Team Leads

  • Have experience as a Supervisor, Team Leader or Assistant Manager in hotels/hospitality (or similar customer-facing environments)

  • Thrive in fast-paced environments, juggling multiple demands efficiently
