Trainee Assistant Manager (Live-in)

River Arts Club, Maidenhead, Berkshire

Full-time | Live-in Position | £12,000 per year including accommodation

Start Date: Mid to Late August 2026

River Arts Club is a calm, creative retreat set on the banks of the Thames in Maidenhead, Berkshire. As we transition from a boutique hotel into an exciting new members’ club, we are looking for a warm, organised and proactive Assistant Manager to join our small and dedicated team.

This is a unique live-in opportunity for someone who enjoys hospitality, takes pride in creating exceptional guest experiences, and is excited by the prospect of growing with a business during an important period of transformation.

The Role

As Assistant Manager, you will play a key role in the day-to-day running of River Arts Club, ensuring guests feel welcomed, cared for and supported throughout their stay. You will be comfortable taking initiative, managing multiple responsibilities, and working both independently and collaboratively as part of a close-knit team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Responding promptly and professionally to guest requests and enquiries
  • Managing overnight bookings and supporting the reservations process
  • Overseeing general hotel maintenance and reporting any issues
  • Ensuring all public spaces are clean, tidy and beautifully presented
  • Preparing and serving a light breakfast for guests
  • Training, supporting and managing volunteers and housekeeping staff
  • Managing stock lists and ordering supplies as required
  • Assisting with the smooth day-to-day operation of the property
  • Maintaining high standards of hospitality, cleanliness and guest care
  • Adapting to new responsibilities as the business evolves into a members’ club

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
