Role: Assistant General Manager — Adam & Eve, Homerton

Employment: Full-time

About us

Dating back to the mid-18th century, Adam & Eve is a well-loved Homerton pub with indoor seating, a beer garden and a large roof terrace (heaters and coverings for winter). We serve great food (resident kitchen: Krapow), host regular gigs, events and private hires, and pride ourselves on a warm, inclusive atmosphere for locals and visitors alike.

Overview

As Assistant General Manager, you’ll support the General Manager in running a busy, event‑led pub. You’ll lead FOH shifts, coach and develop staff, manage cash and stock procedures, run rotas and help shape the venue’s identity and events programme.

Key responsibilities

  • Lead FOH shifts and take operational ownership in the GM’s absence
  • Supervise and coach Duty Managers and front‑of‑house teams
  • Manage cashing up, till reconciliation and basic stock control
  • Create rotas, support recruitment, onboarding and training
  • Drive service standards, guest recovery and day‑to‑day operations
  • Support live‑music nights, events and promotions to grow trade
  • Ensure licensing, health & safety and food‑hygiene compliance

Reasons to use Rodeo

I’m in my final year doing Economics and I don’t know whether to apply for grad schemes now or do a masters first. What do you think?

Honest answer — it depends on where you want to end up. A lot of top grad schemes (Big 4, civil service, banking) don’t need a masters. Let’s look at the ones you’d be competitive for now, and we can decide if a masters actually adds anything.

Also worth knowing: most autumn 2026 applications are open now. Timing matters more than you think.

Start with a chat, not a search bar

Grad scheme, placement, apprenticeship? Not sure what you want yet — that's fine. Your agent talks it through with you and turns "I have no idea" into a shortlist.
