Assistant General Manager – Story Cellar
About the Role
Story Cellar is looking for an ambitious Assistant General Manager to support the General Manager in leading our restaurant and delivering exceptional guest experiences. This is a hands-on leadership role designed for a dynamic hospitality professional eager to take ownership of operations and drive performance.
Working closely with the General Manager, this role entails guiding service standards, team development, operational excellence and commercial goals—all while fostering a friendly, creative, and inspiring restaurant culture. Inspired by Parisian rotisserie traditions, Story Cellar blends charcoal cooking, classic dishes, and a sophisticated wine programme with counter-style dining.

Requirements
To excel in this role, you should bring:
- Previous experience as an Assistant General Manager, Restaurant Manager, or in a senior hospitality leadership position within quality restaurants
- Proven ability to lead large teams and maintain operational excellence across all business areas
- Experience supporting commercial performance, including labour cost control, revenue targets, and cost management
- Ability to take full operational responsibility in the General Manager’s absence
- Strong leadership, coaching, and people development skills
- Deep expertise in food, beverage, and wine—paired with a passion for hospitality
- A composed, decisive approach under pressure with strong organisational and attention-to-detail skills
- A warm, humble, and friendly personality
- A proactive, solutions-oriented, and ambitious mindset
- Eagerness to develop a long-term career within a growing restaurant group
