Assistant General Manager – High Volume Neighbourhood Pub (East London)

We’re looking for a passionate and driven Assistant General Manager to join the leadership team of a busy, high-volume neighbourhood pub in East London.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, loves delivering memorable guest experiences, and is ready to take the next step in their management career.

Working closely with the General Manager, you’ll play a key role in the day-to-day running of the business, leading from the front, motivating the team, and ensuring exceptional standards across food, drink, and service. The venue is known for its vibrant atmosphere, extensive drinks offering, popular food concept, and versatile event spaces, making no two days the same.

Responsibilities

  • Supporting all aspects of daily operation
  • Leading, coaching and developing a high-performing team
  • Driving sales while maintaining excellent service standards
  • Managing stock, labour, and financial controls
  • Ensuring compliance with all health and safety and licensing regulations
  • Helping create a fun, welcoming atmosphere for guests and the team

Requirements

We’re looking for someone who:

  • Has experience as an Assistant General Manager or ambitious Deputy Manager within a quality pub, bar or restaurant
  • Is a natural leader with hands-on management style
  • Has strong commercial awareness and organisational skills
  • Is passionate about hospitality, food, and premium drinks
  • Thrives in a busy, community-focused environment
