Assistant General Manager - Student Accommodation

Fixed Term Contract – MAT Leave Cover

Position

Assistant General Manager (Fixed Term Contract) – Foundry Courtyard, Glasgow (37.5 hours per week, 8:00am–6:00pm)

About the Role Join Homes for Students, the UK’s leading independent provider of student accommodation, in an exciting opportunity to support check-in, check-out, and room turnaround processes during the high-demand September period. You’ll work closely as an Assistant General Manager within our dynamic sales, maintenance, and housekeeping teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide exceptional customer service across sales, maintenance, and housekeeping departments.
  • Support the General Manager in managing check-in, check-out, and room turnaround, ensuring smooth operations during peak times.
  • Collaborate with a dedicated team to uphold customer satisfaction and company values.
  • Utilise strong communication skills to assist new students and troubleshoot challenges.
  • Work collaboratively with business, regional, and area teams to enhance performance.

Person Specification

Requirements

✅ Previous experience in team management (preferably in hospitality, accommodation, or customer-facing roles) ✅ Strong presentational and analytical skills for effective reporting ✅ Excellent organisational skills to maintain seamless operations ✅ Ability to collaborate, inspire, and motivate team members ✅ Proficiency in Microsoft Office software (Word, Excel, Outlook) ✅ Passion for working in the student accommodation sector

Desirable (Not Essential)

✔ Knowledge of health and safety regulations
