Role Overview
This role is perfect for a passionate and driven team player with commercial flair, enthusiasm, and the skills to help drive business growth alongside the General Manager.
We’re searching for a manager with proven experience in maintaining high standards while nurturing membership and team development. You’ll be key in shaping JD Gyms’ reputation and thriving business.
Responsibilities
- Ensure Health & Safety and Employee Policy compliance, as well as adherence to the Company Procedures Handbook.
- Uphold and maintain the JD Gyms brand standards.
- Conduct daily, weekly, and monthly safety checks—reporting and chasing defects to guarantee the gym and equipment remain safe.
- Recruit and manage Fitness Coaches and General Assistants to ensure operational coverage and fulfill daily expectations.
- Lead regular team meetings to foster development and keep everyone informed.
- Meet and exceed set sales and membership targets.
- Maximize secondary spending revenue (e.g., retail, membership add-ons).
- Ensure the gym is spotless, maintaining the highest cleanliness standards.
- oversee cleaning teams (General Assistants) to ensure exceptional standards.
- Manage weekly banking, minimizing waste and variance to boost profitability.
- Enforce uniform standards among all staff, including yourself.
- Provide outstanding member service at all times.
- Foster a positive, enjoyable work culture for the team.
- Be a brand ambassador, representing JD Gyms with pride.

Skills & Requirements
must have:
- Proven management experience—preferably in leisure or fitness.
- A strong passion for customer service with the ability to inspire and guide a team effectively.
- At least a Level 2 Gym Instructor qualification.
- A track record of boosting sales and coordinating local marketing.
- Experience in team recruitment, training, and management.
Ideally, you will also have:
- Prior Assistant Manager experience overseeing gym operations.
- Substantial Fitness Manager or similar operational leadership experience.
