Assistant Geotechnical Engineer

About the Role
Assist in the delivery of high-quality geotechnical engineering services across some of the UK’s most transformative projects. Join our team in Newcastle Upon Tyne as an Assistant Geotechnical Engineer or Assistant Engineering Geologist, contributing to everything from technical design to client engagement.**Your responsibilities will include:
- Preparing professional and technically accurate reports, liaising with specialists and clients
- Generating ground models and design parameters
- Conducting analyses of:
- Slopes and retaining walls
- Foundations
- Other geotechnical structures and geological hazards
- Supporting project delivery, including:
- Client liaison
- Coordination with multi-disciplinary teams
- Implementing higher sustainability principles and leveraging 3D data to improve project outcomes
- Overseeing site-based work, including:
- Supervising ground investigations
- Managing construction activities
- Supporting our new training framework to develop yourself and colleagues, fostering a culture of shared learning and continuous improvement.

What We’ll Be Looking For
You’ll need to demonstrate:
- A fundamental grounding in ground risk and site investigation practices
- A strong grasp of basic:
- Soil mechanics
- Engineering principles
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to produce high-quality reports and design deliverables
- Ambitious plans to progress towards chartered status
