Assistant Geotechnical Engineer

About the Role

Join our team in Bristol as an Assistant Geotechnical Engineer or Assistant Engineering Geologist. Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Producing professional and technically competent reports while liaoning with specialists and clients.
  • Preparing ground models and design parameters, as well as analysing:
    • Slopes
    • Walls
    • Foundations
    • Geotechnical structures
    • Assessing geological hazards
  • Supporting all aspects of project delivery:
    • Client liaison
    • Coordination with colleagues across other disciplines
  • Contributing to sustainability improvements, particularly through:
    • Better use of 3D data in project delivery
  • Conducting site-based work:
    • Supervising ground investigations
    • Overseeing the construction of transformative UK projects across diverse sectors
  • Utilising our newly developed training framework to:
    • Develop your own skills
    • Mentor colleagues at all career levels
    • Foster a collective learning culture grounded in shared experience.

What We Will Look For

We seek candidates who can demonstrate:

  • A fundamental appreciation of ground risk and site investigation.
  • A strong grasp of basic soil mechanics and engineering principles.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, including the ability to:
    • Generate high-quality reports and design deliverables.
  • Ambition to progress towards chartered status.
