Assistant Handyman Position (W2)
Hartford-New London Counties, Connecticut
About the Role
Are you looking to learn practical aspects of multiple trades, work with an experienced Craftsman/Craftswoman, and earn a stable wage? Join Ace Handyman Services, a trusted service-based company backed by our ACE® brand, where managers handle admin tasks—letting you focus 100% on craftsmanship.
We’re seeking highly motivated individuals with a passion for handyman work, repair, maintenance, and light remodeling. Whether you’re early in your career or gaining industry experience, you’ll gain on-the-job training and pathways to career advancement in a supportive environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform multi-trade tasks, including (but not limited to):
- Carpentry
- Tiling
- Painting & Drywall
- Plumbing & Electrical (basic)
- General maintenance & repairs
- Use own tools or tools provided by Craftsmen to complete projects efficiently
- Travel to job sites in Hartford/New London Counties, adjoining areas, and surrounding towns in your vehicle
- Provide exceptional customer service, including:
- Clear communication with clients
- Problem-solvingability in the field
- Positive interactions with team members & management
- Work independently or assist senior Craftsmen as needed

Requirements
To qualify, applicants should meet the following:
Minimum Skills & Commitment
- Interest in tradeskills—practical enthusiasm trumps formal education
- Willingness and ability to:
Career Background & Attitude
- Must be customer-focused – clients and Repairs say: “This is why they love working with us.”
- Handyman basics knowledge preferred (e.g., DIY repairs, trouble-shooting)
- Physical ability to lift equipment, climb, and stand for durations
Legal & Compliance
Compensation
$18.00 – $22.00/hour (depending on skills and experience).
