About the Role
Are you passionate about maintaining golf courses and working in a dynamic outdoor environment?
We are looking for a dedicated Assistant Head Greenkeeper to join our team! This is a fantastic opportunity for a motivated individual with greenkeeping experience who wants to take their career to the next level and work alongside a talented team of professionals.
Key Responsibilities
To support the Head Greenkeeper and deputise in their absence:
- Programming and supervising golf greenkeeping operations
- Supervising by planning, motivating, and controlling all associated maintenance across the entire course
- Planning, organising, and undertaking maintenance operations to ensure the golf course is play-ready with minimal disruption to players
- Avoiding changes that could cause competitions to be declared void
- Identifying pest, weed, or disease problems and implementing appropriate control measures (cultural or chemical)
- Setting-up, calibrating, and checking spraying equipment
- Assisting in the surveying, planning, and construction of new greens, tees, and bunkers
- Contributing to liquid and granular fertiliser applications, including:
- Producing and distributing feed to greens and tees evenly
- Staff management responsibilities, including:
- Recruitment, training, development, and absence management
- Conducting 1-2-1s, competency assessments, and timesheet oversight

Role Requirements
- Minimum of two years’ experience in grounds maintenance/greenkeeping
- NVQ Level 2 in Greenkeeping or equivalent experience is desirable
- Relevant golf course greenkeeping experience
- Proven ability to operate grounds maintenance equipment
