Role Description
The Assistant Head Sommelier is a full-time, on-site role based in Windermere, supporting the Head Sommelier in managing the wine program across the resort’s restaurants and bars. Day-to-day responsibilities include:

The role involves assisting with stock management, wine list development, and coordinating staff training on wine knowledge and service techniques. The Assistant Head Sommelier will collaborate closely with the food and beverage team to enhance guest satisfaction, drive wine sales, and maintain a refined, welcoming atmosphere.
Qualifications
- Strong sommelier expertise with practical experience in wine service and cellar management.
- Proficiency in wine pairing and a solid understanding of food and beverage operations.
- Experience in wine sales, including recommending wines that enhance guest experience and revenue.
- Excellent communication skills for engaging with guests and supporting team training.
- Relevant wine certifications (e.g., WSET or equivalent) highly desirable.
- Previous experience in upscale or fine-dining environments preferred.
- Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
- Strong attention to detail, professional presentation, and commitment to guest-focused service.
