Location: Baston House School, Bromley, Kent, BR2 7AB
Hours: 37.5 per week | Monday–Friday, 8:30am – 4:30pm
Salary: Up to £55,000 per annum (depending on experience, not pro rata)
Contract: Permanent | Term Time Only
Start: September 2026

About the Role

This is a unique opportunity to combine strategic leadership with classroom practice, driving outstanding teaching, curriculum innovation and pupil outcomes across the school.

What You Will Be Doing
As Assistant Headteacher, you will play a central role in driving our school’s vision forward:
- Lead and champion high-quality teaching, learning, and curriculum development across the school.
- Drive pupil attainment, progress, and achievement through effective use of data and quality assurance.
- Support the strategic leadership and implementation of the School Improvement Plan.
- Lead curriculum innovation, ensuring learning pathways meet the needs of all pupils and statutory requirements.
- Deliver and model outstanding classroom practice through a teaching commitment of up to 50%.
- Line manage, coach, and develop teachers and middle leaders to maximise performance and professional growth.
- Lead staff training and professional development to embed best practice and continuous improvement.
- Build strong partnerships with parents, external agencies, and the wider community while promoting a positive and aspirational school culture.

What You Will Bring
We are looking for someone who:
- Holds QTS, a recognised Degree, and NPQSL (or equivalent leadership qualification).
- Is an inspiring educational leader with a passion for teaching, learning, and curriculum excellence.
- Has strong experience analysing data and using insights to drive school improvement and pupil outcomes.
- Can motivate, develop, and support colleagues to achieve their full potential.
- Is an excellent communicator, building positive relationships with pupils, staff, families, and external partners.
- Demonstrates strategic thinking, resilience, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
- Is committed to inclusion, high expectations, and achieving the very best outcomes for every pupil.

Baston House School is an independent day specialist school in Bromley, Kent, supporting children and young people aged 5–19 with Autism Spectrum Conditions (ASC) and associated needs.
