Assistant Investment Manager
Location - London (Hybrid)
About the Role
We are looking for a highly organised and motivated Trainee Investment Manager to join our Wealth Management team.
This is an excellent opportunity for an ambitious individual looking to develop a career working with Ultra High Net Worth (UHNW) clients. The successful candidate will support experienced Investment Managers while gaining exposure to investment management, financial planning, client relationship management and portfolio administration.
The role combines analytical work, client service and operational support, offering significant opportunities for professional development and progression.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide day-to-day support to Investment Managers while contributing to the wider team's objectives.
- Assist with client reporting, valuations and bespoke information requests.
- Manage workflow, follow-ups and client records to ensure actions are completed accurately and on time.
- Liaise with dealing and operations teams regarding trade settlements and resolve any outstanding issues.
- Maintain accurate client information and portfolio records.
- Coordinate corporate actions and ensure appropriate instructions are processed.
- Produce portfolio analytics, performance reporting, asset allocation analysis and capital gains information.
- Prepare high-quality reports, presentations and meeting packs for clients and prospective clients.
- Respond to client enquiries professionally and efficiently.
- Monitor portfolio activity and assist with portfolio administration.
- Process trades in accordance with client instructions, internal procedures and regulatory requirements.
- Support investment research and preparation of recommendations.
- Attend client meetings where appropriate and assist with preparation and follow-up actions.
- Support business development initiatives, prospect tracking and marketing activities.
- Attend industry events and seminars when required.
- Monitor third-party providers to ensure accurate and timely processing.

The successful candidate will demonstrate:
- Excellent organisation skills with strong attention to detail.
- A proactive approach and the ability to take ownership of tasks through to completion.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- High levels of professionalism, discretion and integrity.
- Confidence working with Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint.
- An interest in financial markets, investments and wealth management.
- The ability to prioritise effectively and perform well in a fast-paced environment.
- A collaborative mindset with the confidence to ask questions and contribute ideas.
- A willingness to learn and study towards relevant professional qualifications.
- An interest in using AI and productivity tools to improve efficiency and quality of work.

Desirable Experience
- Previous experience within wealth management, investment management, private banking or financial services.
- Knowledge of investment products and financial planning principles.
- Experience preparing client reports or working with investment administration systems.
