Assistant Kitchen Manager

About the Role

We are looking to appoint an Assistant Kitchen Manager to join one of Angel Oak Academy’s busy, vibrant kitchens. Our Academies are inclusive, delivering outstanding academic standards while placing happiness, well-being, and success of our pupils at the forefront of everything we do.


The Successful Candidate Must

  • Have a knowledge of food preparation
  • Be able to lead and motivate staff
  • Demonstrate willingness and enthusiasm for training and progression
  • Be able to read and complete simple instructions, such as:
    • Cleaning rotas
    • Work rotas
    • Temperature and control sheets
  • Communicate effectively with kitchen staff, pupils, and wider school staff
  • Display and maintain a high standard of personal hygiene
  • Be able to encourage children to select balanced meals
  • Be committed to the Trust’s equalities policies
  • Take charge of the kitchen and catering staff in the absence of the Kitchen Manager
