Assistant Landfill Manager Degree Apprentice

Apprentice Assistant Landfill Manager (Salary: £25,106 + Veolia Benefits)

Location: Springfield Landfill Site (Training: Essex Landfill Sites) Hours: 40 per week (Mon-Fri) Duration: 48 months Closing Date: Candidate shortlisting and assessment days in July 2026


About the Role

Do you see yourself in an apprentice role? Vector Services is now looking to appoint an Apprentice Assistant Landfill Manager to join their apprenticeship scheme.

As an apprentice, you’ll gain invaluable support, hands-on experience, and qualifications to shape your career while making a tangible difference. By the end of your 48-month programme, you’ll be equipped with industry-standard training to progress in your field.


Key Responsibilities

  • Provide financial, operational, and developmental support to Landfill Site Manager and other departments, ensuring strict adherence to Company policies, procedures, and systems
  • Manage a team, assisting with day-to-day operations and reporting
  • Compile and submit compliance reports to the environmental agency and permits body in line with regulatory requirements
  • Identify, analyse, and resolve problems on the fly, contributing to site optimization and problem-solving initiatives

Requirements & Preference

Essential Criteria:

  • Minimum of 4 GCSEs (Grade 4/C or equivalent), including Maths & English
  • 3 A-Levels (or equivalent)
  • Strong work ethic and problem-solving skills
  • Excellent communication and verbal skills
  • Willingness to travel (driver’s licence is required for this role)
