The Role

As an Assistant Lecturer (Teaching) in Aerospace, you will partner with students to develop the knowledge, skills, and professional attributes critical for success in the rapidly evolving aerospace engineering and aerospace technology industries — sectors transforming through advancements in sustainable aviation, digital engineering, systems integration, and emerging aircraft technology.

Core Responsibilities

  • Teaching, student support, and curriculum delivery across undergraduate Aerospace Engineering and Aerospace Technology programmes.
  • Delivery of core engineering fundamentals plus applied technical subjects, including:
    • Computational and simulation-based learning
    • Laboratory and project-based activities
  • Collaborating with colleagues to ensure an engaging, inclusive academic environment, incorporating professional practice, sustainability, industry engagement, and cutting-edge technologies into teaching.
  • Regular module and course evaluation for continuous improvement.

Requirements

Essential Skills & Experience

  • Demonstrated interest (or experience) in supporting Aerospace Engineering, Aerospace Technology, or a closely related discipline (engineering theory or technical training).
  • Subject expertise in at least one of the following areas:
    • Aircraft design, development, or construction
    • Aircraft systems integration
    • Aerodynamics, materials, structures, or performance
    • Digital engineering, simulation, or UAV technologies
  • Commitment to enhancing emerging aerospace technologies and a passion for supporting a diverse student cohort.
  • Experience with project work, industry-facing technical skills, or applied engineering is highly welcomed (academic or professional environment).
