Description

We’re looking for an ambitious Assistant Management Accountant to join our Finance team and support our Supply Chain & Online functions. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys combining strong management accounting fundamentals with commercial insight, analysis, and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

What you’ll be doing

  • Prepare and post period-end journals, ensuring accurate and timely recording of Supply Chain and Online costs.
  • Complete robust balance sheet reconciliations, investigating and resolving reconciling items promptly.
  • Analyse variances against budget and prior year, and help produce clear commentary on financial performance.
  • Support preparation of reporting packs and performance updates for management stakeholders.

Business partnering and analysis

  • Produce weekly reporting across Supply Chain costs to support timely and informed decision-making.
  • Accurately capture and code supplier costs and operational metrics to support reporting and analysis.
  • Provide ad hoc analysis to identify trends, risks, and opportunities across the cost base.
  • Build strong relationships with stakeholders across Finance and Supply Chain, supporting budgeting and forecasting activity.

Controls and continuous improvement

  • Support the year-end process, including audit deliverables and liaising with auditors when required.
  • Help strengthen the control environment by identifying opportunities to improve finance processes, reporting, and systems.

We Would Like To Meet Someone Who Is

  • At least 3 years’ experience in a finance role within a fast-paced, high-volume environment.
  • Retail, ecommerce, or supply chain experience would be advantageous.
  • Studying towards an accountancy qualification, or keen to continue progressing professionally.
  • Strong Excel and analytical skills, with a high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • A proactive mindset, with the confidence to challenge, improve processes, and work collaboratively with stakeholders.
