Assistant Management Accountant

Assistant Accountant Hybrid / Business Service Centre Full-Time | Permanent Heidelberg Materials Build Your Accounting Career with a Global Industry Leader Are you detail-driven, organised, and ready to develop your finance career within a fast-paced international business? Heidelberg Materials is looking for an Assistant Accountant to join our International Business Service Centre (BSC), supporting multiple countries with high-quality accounting and finance services. This is a fantastic opportunity to gain exposure to international accounting operations, ERP systems, forecasting, budgeting, and month-end activities while working within a collaborative and supportive finance team. What You’ll Be Doing As an Assistant Accountant, you’ll play a key role in delivering accurate and timely accounting services across the business. Key Responsibilities Post journals and accounting uploads accurately into ERP systems Support the preparation of monthly management accounts Assist with balance sheet reconciliations and risk analysis Help deliver quarterly forecasts and annual budget processes Investigate and resolve accounting issues using sound judgement Analyse non-standard transactions and recommend solutions Carry out root cause analysis and provide meaningful resolutions Respond to finance and accounting queries in a professional and timely manner Develop expertise in accounting standards and finance systems What We’re Looking For We’re looking for someone who is proactive, analytical, and eager to grow within a global finance environment. You’ll Ideally Have: Previous finance or accounting experience Strong attention to detail and accuracy Good analytical and problem-solving skills Excellent communication and customer service abilities Experience using ERP systems would be advantageous A collaborative mindset with a willingness to learn Studying towards AAT, ACCA, or CIMA (desirable but not essential) Why Join Heidelberg Materials?
