The Assistant Management Accountant supports the finance team in delivering accurate and timely financial reporting, forecasting, budgeting, and analysis to aid operational and strategic decision-making. This role requires strong attention to detail, financial acumen, and a proactive attitude in a complex operational and regulatory environment.
You will maintain compliance with financial controls, champion process improvement, and support statutory and regulatory reporting, working with a variety of budgets and stakeholders. The role champions standardisation, automation, efficiency, and compliance, maximising opportunities through innovation and technology.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist with preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reports
- Post journals, accruals, and prepayments accurately
- Reconcile key balance sheet accounts and investigate variances
- Collaborate on budgeting and forecasting, monitoring performance against targets
- Analyse Opex costs, identify trends, and provide insights for efficiency
- Ensure compliance with financial controls and contribute to process improvements

What Does It Take to Be Successful?
- Graduate or AAT qualified accountant, aiming for CIMA/ACCA
- Experience of reporting and working to deadlines
- Good communication skills (verbal and written)
- Analytical approach and ability to challenge
- Strong IT skills, especially Excel and Word
- Ability to build trust, collaborate, and adapt to change
