The Assistant Management Accountant supports the finance team in delivering accurate and timely financial reporting, forecasting, budgeting, and analysis to aid operational and strategic decision-making. This role requires strong attention to detail, financial acumen, and a proactive attitude in a complex operational and regulatory environment.

You will maintain compliance with financial controls, champion process improvement, and support statutory and regulatory reporting, working with a variety of budgets and stakeholders. The role champions standardisation, automation, efficiency, and compliance, maximising opportunities through innovation and technology.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist with preparation of monthly management accounts and financial reports
  • Post journals, accruals, and prepayments accurately
  • Reconcile key balance sheet accounts and investigate variances
  • Collaborate on budgeting and forecasting, monitoring performance against targets
  • Analyse Opex costs, identify trends, and provide insights for efficiency
  • Ensure compliance with financial controls and contribute to process improvements

What Does It Take to Be Successful?

  • Graduate or AAT qualified accountant, aiming for CIMA/ACCA
  • Experience of reporting and working to deadlines
  • Good communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Analytical approach and ability to challenge
  • Strong IT skills, especially Excel and Word
  • Ability to build trust, collaborate, and adapt to change
