Assistant Management Accountant
💰£35-40,000 | Full time, permanent | Wigan
Accountable Recruitment are working with a well-established, growing organisation to recruit an Assistant Management Accountant to join their finance team.
With operations spanning multiple locations this business provides a great opportunity to gain wide-ranging exposure in a fast-paced, commercially focused environment.
Working closely with the finance team, you will support the day-to-day running of the finance function, oversee transactional processes, and contribute to accurate and timely financial reporting.
The Role
This is a varied position offering hands-on involvement across both operational and management accounting activities.

Key duties will include:
- Supporting the business with the smooth running of the finance function
- Supervising and providing guidance to members of the accounts team
- Assisting with the production of monthly management accounts
- Preparing balance sheet reconciliations and investigating variances
- Reconciling asset profitability between operational records and financial reporting
- Maintaining accurate fixed asset/stock records and supporting periodic stock checks
- Preparing payroll data for submission to an outsourced provider
- Completing VAT returns
- Supporting cashbook processes, including payments and receipts
- Managing and reconciling creditor balances
- Identifying opportunities to enhance processes, controls, and efficiencies

About You
- Previous experience in a similar management accounts or finance role
- Highly organised with strong attention to detail
- Confident user of Excel
- Experience with finance systems
- Comfortable working independently and as part of a team
- Proactive, resilient, and solutions-oriented mindset
- Strong communication skills with a positive, can-do approach
