Assistant Management Accountant (Part Qualified)

Location: Southwark, London (minimum 4 days a week office-based)

Overview

RAMP Global simplifies contract worker management, talent sourcing and vendor management for employers all over the world. Based in our central London office, you will be a key part of the Finance team, working directly with our CFO. This role offers plenty of exposure in both finance and the wider business (finance does not sit in a silo at RAMP) so requires both attention to detail and strong analytical thinking alongside excellent communication skills. A critical element will be the ownership taken by the person in this role of the areas of responsibility assigned to them. Our Ideal Person

We will ultimately hire this individual based on a number of core attributes; personality, attitude, drive and organisational skills. We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented finance professional looking to take the next step in their accounting career. Working closely with the CFO, you will play a key role in supporting month end reporting, maintaining balance sheet integrity, producing insightful financial analysis and helping drive continuous improvement across the finance function.

Skills and Desired Experience

  • 2-5 years’ experience with a finance or accounting role
  • Part-qualified ACCA/CIMA desirable.
  • Experience with HR technology or a platform supporting an RPO, MSP, EOR, Contractor Management or Vendor Management business would be advantageous
  • Experience assisting with month-end processes.
  • Experience performing balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Experience producing financial reports and analysis
  • Experience using cloud accounting software (Xero preferred).
  • A keen interest in the role AI will play in delivering enhanced value and improved processes
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment and manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong MS Excel skills including Pivot Tables, Xlookup/Vlookup, Sumifs + Data Analysis & Reporting.
  • Strong understanding of accruals, prepayments and double entry bookkeeping fundamentals.
  • Knowledge of balance sheet and P&L structures (group consolidation experience preferred).
  • Experience working with financial systems and reporting tools.

Key Responsibilities

Month-End & Management Accounting

  • Assist with the preparation of monthly management accounts.
  • Prepare and post journals including accruals, prepayments and adjustments.
  • Maintain fixed asset register and depreciation schedules.
  • Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations and investigate reconciling items.
  • Support month-end close activities to agreed deadlines.
  • Assist with monthly P&L and balance sheet analysis.

Financial Reporting & Analysis

  • Produce regular financial reports and KPI reporting packs.
  • Prepare ad hoc analysis and reporting for management.
  • Support budgeting and forecasting processes.
  • Analyse financial data and identify trends, variances and anomalies.
  • Assist with cashflow reporting and forecasting.

Transactional Finance Oversight

  • Support accounts payable and accounts receivable processes as required.
  • Review and maintain accuracy of financial records within Xero.
  • Assist with supplier statement reconciliations.
  • Ensure timely processing and resolution of finance queries.

Controls & Process Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to improve finance processes and controls.
  • Assist with automation and reporting enhancements within Xero and Excel.
  • Develop and maintain documented finance procedures.
  • Support implementation of best practice financial controls.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across the finance function.
