Established in 1994, The Fragrance Shop is the UK’s leading independent fragrance retailer. Our aim is to make mainstream and luxury fragrances affordable and accessible to all. We showcase more than 130 fragrance brands in over 220 stores throughout the UK and online at www.thefragranceshop.co.uk. We are expanding and are looking for a Assistant Management Accountant to join the team and be part of a growing and vibrant brand.

Role overview
This is a hands-on role in a fast-paced, results-driven organisation where innovation and a practical, solution-oriented approach are critical. As a key member of the finance team, the successful candidate will contribute to monthly & annual reporting and the ad-hoc provision of information to support management decision making. In addition, they will support the demands of the business in this exciting phase of growth, shaping changes to critical financial systems and processes within the organisation.

The role will suit someone who wants to develop and gain a financial qualification whilst gaining excellent hands-on experience and commercial exposure in a busy retail finance function.
Responsibilities
- Work as part of the management accounts team to assist in the production of monthly management accounts in a multi-channel reporting format
- Accounting responsibility for key overhead areas and providing insightful analysis
- Assisting with the daily sales postings and other tender reconciliations
- Assisting with Balance Sheet reconciliations and other key controls
- Ad hoc duties assisting across the Finance department (to widen experience and knowledge base)
Qualifications/Experience/Skills

- Good working knowledge of Excel & MS Office
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal
- Organised and methodical with an excellent eye for detail and the ability to multi-task
- Can work well under pressure
- Driven to succeed
- Previous experience of working in busy finance department.
- Good academic background, ideally degree level
- Study support towards a recognised professional accounting qualification (e.g. CIMA, ACCA, ACA) may be available for the right candidate, subject to business requirements and performance
