Assistant Manager – Starbucks

As an Assistant Manager at Starbucks, you’ll shape the brand’s future by delivering exceptional customer experiences and commercial results. You’ll lead with autonomy, mentoring teams, driving performance, and embodying our culture with purpose.
About the Role
Your voice, leadership, and expertise will be pivotal as you:
- Drive operational excellence, ensuring branded standards are met
- Engage and develop store partners (employees) through coaching and support
- Optimise KPIs in labour efficiency, waste reduction, sales performance, and customer engagement
- Act as the Duty Manager when scheduled, making timely operational decisions
- Champion new initiatives and product launches at the store level
- Advocate for a growth mindset, nurturing your leadership journey

Responsibilities
In this fast-paced, dynamic retail and hospitality role, your day-to-day may include:
- Leading shifts to hit commercial targets while guaranteeing a world-class customer experience
- Managing performance data—labour efficiency, waste reduction, and sales—to drive smarter decisions
- Adapting shift deployment to ensure customer flow aligns with optimal service
- Providing 1:1 coaching and feedback to partners (employees), celebrating wins and guiding improvement
- Representing the store as the Duty Manager, ensuring operational and people decisions align with health, safety, and security expectations
- Embedding brand consistency in every interaction—from product quality to moments of service
- Training new partners in coffee knowledge and operational standards

Requirements
To thrive in this role, you should demonstrate:
- A track record of leadership—previously managing a team in a customer-focused retail or hospitality environment
- Growth-oriented mindset, eager to develop and progress within a leadership career
- Commercial acumen—able to translate metrics into actionable strategies
- Confidence in balancing operational priorities with people-centric leadership
- Empathy and adaptability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic role
