Role Overview
As Assistant Manager at JD Sports, you’ll play a pivotal role in enhancing a global powerhouse of sports fashion. You’ll work closely with the Store Manager to:
- Drive results, craft team success, and deliver a premium JD experience.
- Support customer experience excellence and operational efficiency.

Key Responsibilities
Leadership & Team Development
- Support the Store Manager in achieving sales targets, KPIs, and operational excellence.
- Lead colleagues on the shop floor:
- Allocate tasks in real time
- Foster JD’s service standards
- Drive motivation and improvement
- Assist with coaching and development:
- Provide constructive feedback
- Reinforce Store Manager priorities
Operations & Performance
- Ensure adherence to JD’s high standards in:
- Presentation
- Pricing accuracy
- Store cleanliness
- Safety protocols
- Handle key operational tasks:
- Cash handling & till management
- Delivery processing & stock audits
- Store opening/closing routines
- Escalating issues appropriately
Requirements
Essential Skills & Experience
- Proven retail management or supervisory experience (equivalent to Assistant Store Manager or Supervisor roles).
- Strong leadership skills to motivate, develop, and manage teams effectively.
- Confidence in KPI interpretation and adapting strategies to drive results.
- Excellent communication & interpersonal skills for both staff and customers.
- Track record of sales growth, commercial success, and KPI achievement.
