About the Role
As an Assistant Manager at Starbucks, you’ll be empowered to deliver outstanding commercial results and customer experiences, taking full ownership of:
- Operational standards
- Partner engagement (team development)
- Key performance indicators (KPIs)
You’ll lead from the front, influent our mission, and champion our values to create an exceptional experience for both customers and teammates.
Key Responsibilities
Day-to-Day Leadership
No two days are the same! As an Assistant Manager, you’ll:
- Lead shifts to ensure:
- Outstanding commercial results
- World-class customer experiences
- Every team member is set up for success
- Own and optimise KPIs including:
- Labour efficiency
- Waste reduction
- Sales performance
- Deploy shifts effectively, adjusting routines for peak customer experience
- Mentor and coach team members, offering constructive feedback
- Recognise and celebrate partner achievements proactively
Store Operations & Compliance
- Act as duty manager (when scheduled) for operational and team decisions
- Ensure brand standards are consistently met or exceeded
- Use financial and operational data to improve shift performance
- Train and develop partners for consistent quality, efficiency, and service excellence
- Launch and embed new initiatives and product offerings

Requirements
Essential Criteria
✔ Leadership experience in a fast-paced, customer-focused retail or hospitality environment ✔ Ability to champion Starbucks mission and values ✔ Strong commercial acumen—translating metrics into actionable strategies ✔ Confidence in managing teams and operational priorities
