Assistant Manager
Assistant Manager – JD Sports Fashion

Position Overview
As an Assistant Manager at JD Sports, you’ll play a vital role in supporting the Store Manager to drive results, develop talent, and elevate the customer experience, ensuring every store delivers our premium JD standard.
This role is ideal for someone who wants to lead with confidence, shape a high-performing team in a fast-paced retail environment and contribute to outstanding commercial and operational excellence.
Key Responsibilities

Store Leadership & Operations
- Support the Store Manager in achieving sales targets, key KPIs, and operational excellence
- Lead and guide colleagues on the shop floor, assigning tasks, maintaining JD standards, and delivering exceptional customer service every shift

Talent Development & Coaching
- Provide real-time feedback and professional development support to team members
- Align staff with store priorities and enhance collaboration and performance

Commercial & Operational Excellence
- Monitor sales data, KPIs, and real-time performance to drive commercial decisions
- Ensure high standards in store presentation, inventory accuracy, pricing, and operational processes

- Administrative & Logistical Support
- Assist with cash handling, till reconciliation, deliveries, stock audits, and opening/closing routines
- Quickly identify and escalate issues to maintain flawless operations
Required Skills & Experience
✔ Retail Management/Leadership Background
- Previous experience as an Assistant Store Manager, Supervisor, or in a similar management role
✔ Strong Leadership Approach
- Ability to inspire teams through coaching, empowerment, and alignment with JD standards
✔ Analytical & Commercial Acumen
- Conficient in interpreting sales data and KPIs to guide performance and decision-making
✔ Communication & Relationship Skills
- Proficient communication with both staff and customers to create a positive, inclusive environment
✔ Sales & Performance Track Record
- Demonstrable success in driving revenues, meeting targets, and exceeding customer expectations
